AEC professionals have a broad range of design experience for solid waste facilities. We work with our clients to determine the facility requirements for waste stream types and capacity, disposal volumes anticipated environmental protection features, regulatory design requirements, and any special design needs that the facility may have to incorporate. Since the advent of the Subtitle D Regulations solid waste facilities are required to be designed and constructed to rigid standards to protect the environment. AEC designs facilities to meet those rigid standards while considering local conditions, economic constraints, and client philosophy.
We have extensive experience designing liner and final cover systems as well as leachate collection and control systems and using a variety of material types including:
- Recompacted Soil Liners
- Flexible Membrane Liners (HDPE, PVC, VLDPE, etc)
- Geosynthetic Clay Liners
- Geocomposite Leachate Collection Materials
- Geotextiles
AEC also conducts investigations to design a facility that meets the requirements of the local, state, and federal government including:
- Geologic Studies
- Hydrologic and Hydrogeologic Studies
- Surface Water Infiltration
- Alternative Liner and Cover Design Analyses
- Modeling
- Stability Analyses
