Geologic and Hydrogeologic Characterization

An understanding of geologic and hydrogeologic conditions is critical to the implementation of effective design and monitoring programs for solid waste facilities. To successfully permit a facility, it is necessary to both understand the conditions and describe them in a concise, easily understandable manner. Geologic and hydrogeologic characterization is an integral part of any solid waste facility permitting, design, or monitoring program and AEC personnel have extensive experience in this area.
